Born and raised in the Dominican Republic until about the age of 10 by my grandmother and uncle, I had a pretty interesting childhood. Between the ages of 10 and 16, I spent a lot of time traveling between the Dominican Republic and the U.S. as family members tried to decide which place was best for me to stay. Once the debates calmed down, I was “settled” to live in the U.S.
